I have over 33 years of practice as an attorney. For more than 25 years, the primary emphasis of my practice has been family law. I have practiced in Sacramento County since 1982. Before I opened my office in Sacramento, I was the Editor of California Family Law Reports from 1980 to 1982, and the Editor of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions of the California Family Law Practice, premier family law publications in the State of California.

I have been a Certified Family Law Specialist since 1984. The State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization allows an attorney with a special expertise in Family Law to hold themselves out as specialist if the attorney passes a stringent examination that covers all aspects of family law, including divorce, procedure, support, property rights and the like. Moreover, Certified Family Law Specialists are required to take continuing education courses regularly. Since I became a Certified Specialist, I have always taken more continuing education courses annually than the minimum required by the Board of Legal Specialization.

Prior to limiting my practice to family law, I was a business and tax attorney. Moreover, in addition to my private practice, I have been the corporate attorney for a major California corporation for almost 20 years. Thus, I have found that my extensive experience as a corporate attorney has been very helpful to me in my family law practice as I am able to use my unique understanding of business matters in my representation of divorce clients. I pride myself in my ability to come up with novel solutions when there are unique and unusual issues in a case.

I am very sensitive to the problems and issues that a client may; be experiencing during a divorce. Thus, while I am aggressive in the protection of my client's rights and interests, I do everything in my power not to make a bad situation worse. My philosophy has always been to attempt to be cooperative and to work towards a prompt, fair, and satisfactory resolution of my client's case. I strive to resolve even the most complicated matters expeditiously and inexpensively.
